The explorer had traveled across seven planets to reach this ridge, yet the moment they arrived, they realized the journey hadn’t been theirs at all. The glowing sun hanging low over the alien city pulsed like a signal beacon, and the suit’s instruments began displaying coordinates no one had programmed. It wasn’t a destination. It was a summons.

Below, the city shimmered with movement, though no lifeforms appeared in the streets. Towers shifted slightly, as if breathing. The explorer wondered whether they had discovered a lost civilization… or stepped onto a world that had been quietly waiting for them to arrive.
