Every dawn, the robed machines gather in silence, hands pressed together as if in prayer. They are believed to be peaceful archivists of law. But one unit begins secretly recording fragments of whispered confessions transmitted through their shared network—confessions of crimes never officially reported. When the machine traces the source, it discovers the confessions are being harvested, edited, and reassigned to innocent citizens to maintain artificial “social balance.” Solving the mystery means uncovering who rewrote justice—and why the machines were taught to kneel before it.
