Floating with friends

The elephant drifted gently, boots pointed nowhere, while tiny lights blinked like shy fireflies. The dog in the backpack leaned forward, ears stiff, eyes wide, watching the darkness more closely than the stars. The hum of the suit felt louder out here, and the dog wasn’t sure it liked how big everything was.

The elephant noticed and slowed even more, floating on purpose now. Nothing rushed them. The quiet settled. The dog’s ears lowered just a little, comforted by the steady presence in front. With the smallest push, they adjusted their path together, learning that moving carefully—and together—could make even the vast dark feel manageable.

Everyone assumed the elephant was in charge, but the dog had the map—scribbled on old snack wrappers. Each ear twitch meant a new idea. “Left,” said one ear. “Up,” said the other. The elephant trusted the wiggly signals, and together they followed curiosity instead of rules.

They discovered a place where stars clumped like breadcrumbs, proving that guidance can come from unexpected places—especially when you listen.
